The law which says that the one who pays bribe is also an offender, is the biggest promoter of corruption in India.

People are pushed to the wall to pay bribe, naturally against their will. And when they have paid it, they cannot complain because paying a bribe is also an offense.

This is the reason why the morale of those who openly demand bribe is so high in this country.

Imagine a situation. You are on a railway platform at 2am on a winter night, with your wife and small children. The train comes and the TT demands Rs.10 for allotting you each seat. Otherwise, he would not let you inside the compartment, even though vacant seats are there. What would you do? If you give that bribe, you become an offender and cannot complain. If you don’t, you miss the train and force your family to spend the cold night on the platform, against all odds and dangers.

The TT goes home with Rs.1000 in his pocket, collected for allotting 100 seats. Hefty pay package he gets from his employer is already there.

If you are allowed to complain and hundreds like you, who were exploited at the hands of this TT also complain, perhaps he would not be so daring and emboldened in demanding bribe.

What do you think?

  1. Dear Friends!

Petrol in Pakistan Rs17 per litr
    Malaysia Rs 18 per litr
    In India it’s Rs.65per litr

Why is there a difference within India itself? World Market CRUDE Oil is not

the reason for this. It’s all Gain for private owners? As we are the
general public, or Common Man as R.K.Laxman wud hv said, we have to
raise our voice, let’s raise thru Emails.

Forward this to all Indians who care.

IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF
PETROL FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD
    CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS
OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL
    COMPANIES.
    THEREFORE ”
Feb.14 th” HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED

    “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH ” DAY
AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD
NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF PETROL THAT DAY.

THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS
MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD
OUT. WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS
NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL
IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF PETROL GOING UP BUT
AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES,
TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH AFFECTS
PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING,
BUILDING SUPPLIES MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE
    DO!

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.IF THEY DON’T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE
DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. SO DO YOUR PART AND SPR

    • I was forced to pay Rs.5000 to get registration of my real marrirage in a court. When I argued with the officer who had to stamp the registration certificate, he told me that he had paid 2 Lakh to get the job he was on. I quietly walked out after paying the money. NOW WHO IS CORRUPT…Figure it out…(I’m talking about a court in Punjab)

  2. Very good point made here by Satinderpal Ji. Corruption is so deep rooted that sometimes grabbing the end offender isn’t the solution. In the story above, the person who gave Rs 10 isn’t really an offender.
